KneeNavigation is software for imageless 3D navigation in the orthopedic knee surgeries. It is based on the innovative OptiTrace technology. The use of flat, printed, passive markers and passive cameras allow the miniaturization of the system, which in turn facilitates the integration of the operating room. Markers are compatible with surgical equipment and their unique design allows for individual labeling of any number of tools that are detectable in the system.
The software supplied to the system is intuitive and it is based on the procedures used heretofore. It helps to determine the mechanical axis of the joint, the correct cutting planes and verify the effectiveness of the surgery. The main purpose of such systems is health of the patient that could be affected by precision and operation time.
