Join our R&D engineering team and have fun discovering the technology limits. You have overall responsibility of creating technology demo, feasibility studies and developing application for specific customer projects. The R&D Project Lider interacts with customers and the project team in regards to demonstrations, requirements documentation, and solution development, through final system acceptance: bring your crazy ideas and dive into the technical world in order to make our customers happy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Together with an interdisciplinary engineering team, develop, update and implement a project plan leading to the development of a functional prototype and transform it into a product

• Making an analysis of the feasibility of the project, including planning tasks in time (technical roadmap), allocate resources, and knowledge management

• Identifying obstacles in the work of a team and removing them within their competences or through interaction with an international team in the Zeiss organization

• Supervision, reporting and presentation of work progress at meetings

• Participation in strategic planning at the project and organization level

• Critical assessment of requirements, their appropriate communication in the team and division into tasks leading to the implementation of requirements in the product

• Working in agile mode

• Demonstration of technology at conferences, fairs, shows, meetings with clients and internal team meetings

• Coordinating the work of various engineering groups, ensuring cooperation between mechanical engineers, electricians, automation engineers, programmers, quality, safety and machine vision

• Provide support after the offer is presented at an early stage of the project – contact with the client to answer questions and concerns

  • Fast learning of new technologies, applications and hardware platforms


Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Technical education, e.g. in the fields of Automation, Electronics, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Optical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related
  • Team management and agile methodology courses are welcome
  • Preferred experience in the industry related to optical engineering, imaging, image analysis, programming, machine and device construction, testing machines and devices, automation
  • Experience in managing an engineering team (at least 3 people)
  • Minimum one year of experience
  • Previous experience in engineering positions, including R&D engineer, is welcome
